Be aware there are companies such as Psychic Sweatshop A, which we refer to as “Sweat-shopa.” They do not have consistency in payroll days.
Lack of continuity is a problem for any worker in any industry. Payroll dates need to be set in stone. Surely if there are holidays that land on those payroll dates, then that needs to be addressed with a solid policy in place. Though Psychics work as independent contractors, if a company wants to be taken seriously, they need to act serious. If a company wants to be respected, they need to be respectful.
Sweat-shopa’s pay date fluctuates every month. Worse, it has only 1 (one) payroll date – once a month! That right, there is hard enough as-is. However, to have a lack of consistency makes this a living hell or, better yet, a real sweatshop. Sometimes payday is on the 4th, 5th, 6th, or 9th of the month. Worse, they have changed their payroll date at the last minute. Now considering most people’s rent/mortgage payments are due on the 1st of the month, it is their disadvantage not to have that payout date that most civilians would need.
To have a pay date change always is a problem for any worker to make payments on time. They are changing a pay date a few days before its’ arrival is insulting and stressful. It’s terrible enough Sweatshopa charges their Psychics a $20 fee to be paid out via PayPal. After all, PayPal doesn’t charge them to make mass payments. Sure, it would be understandable if it were a wire transfer. However, PayPal fees are not anywhere near ACH fees and only not right.
Now considering Sweatshopa has had issues with Uncharged Fees, Rating Issues, Free 3 minute hogs, Payroll problems, an immediate refund for any reason, and more, you may want to re-think if you’re going to work at such a dysfunctional company.
